Private Idaho

Tucked away on one of the most beautiful pieces of land in Sun Valley, this home was influenced by international styles and designed to accommodate a large family and encourage gathering. At its core is a discrete courtyard with a fire pit, spa, and multipurpose outdoor seating. Despite highlighting magnificent mountain views with extensive glass walls, this home remains private. The interior white walls contrast the exterior cedar siding and serve as a clean backdrop for the family’s fine selection of furnishings and art.

Modern Country Home

Originally planned to be a simple upgrade, this single story 1970’s home morphed into an ambitious remodel. The project, intentionally subdued in color and form, involved major systems upgrades to comply with high energy standards. Attention to detail was a top priority and is what made the project a success. My favorite part of this home is the central room, once occupied by a swimming pool, that opens completely to an outdoor terrace. Following the emphasis on detail, the landscape is meticulously planned and executed achieving an understated and sophisticated result.

Mountain Home Expansion

This project was an extensive addition/remodel. The simple original shapes and foundations were saved. The added spaces connect through walkways with large windows to bridge the inside with the outside. The easily accessible outdoor spaces create ideal family gathering areas. An added loft to the center structure features a staircase of reclaimed glulam beams.

Riverfront Living

This riverfront duplex renovation conserved the exterior appearance but now highlights a fresh interior; the transformation is dramatic, and the interior is hardly recognizable. The main living spaces open to a riverfront yard allowing natural light to come through and reflect on the muted palette creating a tranquil space.

Saddle House

The house sustained two simultaneous additions on each end of the elongated footprint. The additions respected the original design of this single story home by replicating the compartmentalized sections of the pre-existing house. The floor plan did not deviate dramatically from the original 1970’s design, but the interiors were drastically upgraded: I introduced as much glass as possible to counter act the ceiling lines and strengthen the connection to the outdoors.

Family Home Renovation

Originally a duplex, this building underwent a significant structural upgrade that is striking from the inside and noticeable from the exterior. Structural details were not covered up and instead were embraced into the overall look of the house with the intention of having an open plan and a fully functional big family home on a reduced footprint.

Ski Town Condo

All that remains from this 1930’s classic Sun Valley unit are 3 structural walls. This extensive remodel transformed the space into a light, bright and updated condo. All the compartmentalized original spaces were opened into a much larger space. This is a true example of a small space with big style and design.

Light Industrial

Zoned as a live + work space in the middle of Ketchum’s industrial area, this project hosts a dramatic and oversized staircase. The steel staircase is in the center of the space with a large landing midway and access to a ½ story of storage between the lower and upper floors. The staircase importantly creates a natural light well brightening the entire space. The use of steel and exposed raw architectural elements, like beams and plumbing, are complemented with wood and orange accents.

Ketchum Penthouse

This penthouse was remodeled to the studs. Upon entering, the fireplace becomes the focal point of the entire residence operating as a natural division between living spaces. Located in the heart of Ketchum, this penthouse’s architectural details are bold with a high contrast color palette. The extensive use of steel established an industrial feel.
